Debut - Sakura

Sakura means something very special to me. Yes, it's my Nihon Buyo debut! I am thankful that everything went smoothly yesterday. Didn't drop the fan, didn't fall, didn't forget any steps. When you are on stage (well at least for an inexperienced person like me), you really can't do much logical thinking. It seemed like your brain, nerves and muscles were all consumed by stage fright! Honest to heart, I tried to smile but my face muscles just got tensed up. My hands were trembling uncontrollably, hehe lucky that some of my moves also require some fluttering :) Now I understand why my sensei told me to keep practising, it really helped to make the dance moves become second nature to me. I am so relieved when she remarked that yesterday I gave one of my best dance so far :)

Chongmal chukka, dear Jaime!!

From the pictures, it's seems like you were alone onstage. Was that really the case?

I think all of us who know you are very proud that you set yourself this goal and achieved it by practicing diligently and putting all your heart into your pursuit.

Hi Chinggu!

Congratulations for a very good performance. I know you can do it. Aiyayayay, why blurry pics again? But the costume and the accessories look so perfect so I am sure the one wearing them is also perfect!

Thanx for the updates on your dance. Great work!

Love,
judy

Hi dancer Jaime-san,

Congratulations on your debut as a dancer!! Actually we were very much impressed by your beautiful dancing (by a beautiful dancer of course). You said you were very nervious but you didn't seem to be so at all. Each gesture and posture, only unique to Nihon Buyo, was precise, elegant and even sexy. The most amazing thing was you have learned it within a year.

Congratulations for your success at your debut performance!

You don't look like a beginner especially when I see the 3rd photo.

I happened to find the copy of your positng about your first encounter with nihonbuyo 2 years ago yesterday. I keep it coz it has many expressions to introduce or explain what nihonbuyo is and what kind of movements it has in English and thought it would be a good help to me in the furture.

After reread the post ,I feel even happier for you that your dream had come true and more than that you made it true that you had not expected then before leaving Japan.

As for the fashion show, you are so beautiful in that furisode! For sure your hubby and boy were really pround of you.

to the end I really agree to your sensei's words "keep practising helpes to make the dance moves become second nature to us" and I'll keep it in my mind.

love Yoko
